Hi! I'm Max Dakin, a fundraising data guide based in the Portland, Maine area. I work with Development Directors, Executive Directors, and other nonprofit leaders who are looking to take their fundraising to the next level with a data-driven approach. 

I've spent my whole career in fundraising including grant writing, corporate sponsorships, prospect research, and data analytics for complex organizations.

I'm passionate about helping fundraising leaders build deep donor relationships, raise more money,  take back control of their time and energy, and rediscover the joy of philanthropy.

I believe:

• Philanthropy is stuck in outdated models that aren't working for donors or fundraisers. As traditional fundraising gets more competitive, the future belongs to fundraising leaders who can shift their thinking, leveraging data and technology to build deeper relationships.
• Successful fundraising is about mission-oriented growth, and successful fundraisers create growth-oriented systems built on data and processes, centered on people. 
• We must give in order to receive - practicing the same generosity we seek to inspire in others.
